Before You Take A Class

How much does it cost to take a class?

All courses offered through the IBT Worker Training Program are at no cost to students and employers.

The program receives federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Institutes of Environmental Sciences, Department of Energy, and from the IBT and its affiliates.

I am interested in taking a course. How do I get information about signing up?

For information about registering for a course through the IBT Worker Program you can sign up on the Upcoming Classes page, consult the website, or call a Training Center near you directly.

I am unemployed and/or not a Teamster. Can I take one of your courses?

Training is open to all workers who are currently employed or have the potential to become employed in hazardous waste site remediation, hazardous waste and hazardous materials transportation, hazardous waste clean-up, and the loading, unloading and handling of hazardous materials. There is no cost to the student. All training offered by the IBT Worker Training Program is at no cost to the student.

Are your courses offered in Spanish?

Yes, we have bilingual instructors available to teach our classes.

I have been to the IBT Worker Training Program website but have not seen any courses offered near where I live or work, how do I go about getting a course close to where I live/work?

To be cost effective classes must have at least 12 students. If there is not an IBT training center in your state or near your community, the Teamsters instructors will bring the training to you. Please call the IBT Program Office at (202) 624-6963 or contact a training center from the list on the website.

I run a company, non-profit, or other organization. Can I get the Teamsters to provide these courses to my group?

Yes, the IBT Worker Training Program provides training to workers and individuals in various communities. You may contact the IBT Program Office at (202) 624-6963 to begin setting up at class.

After You Take A Class

I took a class and have not received my card. What should I do?

If you took a class over a month ago and still have not received your card, feel free to call us at (202) 624-6963 and we'll give you an idea of how much longer your wait will be.

I lost my Student ID card. Can you provide a replacement?

Replacement cards and transcripts are issued by the IBT Program Office. Please visit our student assistance page or call our office at (202) 624-6963. Once the training has been confirmed a replacement card will be mailed to you.
